Metronidazole (Topical) is used to treat acne rosacea (adult acne), a chronic condition in which the facial skin is inflamed and sores develop. Metronidazole decreases the redness and number of sores but may not be a cure. It is also used to treat some vaginal infections.
Metronidazole (Oral) eliminates bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections of the reproductive system, gastrointestinal tract, skin, vagina, and other areas of the body. Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.
Metronidazole (Vaginal) is used to treat certain vaginal infections. It works by killing bacteria. This medicine will not work for vaginal fungus or yeast infections.
Metronidazole (Injection) eliminates bacteria that cause many infections, including meningitis; pneumonia; and stomach, skin, bone, joint, heart, and gynecological infections.

Yeah, what she said. Also, make sure you stay away from alcohol, if you're taking metronidazole. Even the slightest amount (cough syrup) can cause a reaction similar to a very serious allergic reaction.

Metronidazole is an antibiotic and antiprotozoal agent. It so, used in treatment of specific infections, Its the drug of choice for E. Histolytica, G. lambelia ( are bowel infecting agents that cause abdominal cramps and colic and bloody or mucous stool", also , its used as vaginal suppositories for Vaginal protpzoal infections and last its used as adjauvant with other antibiotics in treatment of muth, gum infections and also intestinal bacterial infections.

Metronidazole aka Flagyl, also has an anti-inflammatory effect. This drug is commonly used to calm down the intestines of cats. I give my cat 50mg. when his stomach goes south.

That is the generic name it is also called Flagyl.It is an antibiotic used to control infections mostly stomach & intestinal infections.I have crohn's disease and I have had to take it and it has many side effects not to mention a horrible metallic taste.

I put it on my toast in the morning! I have heard you can also use to get out stains in your clothes and it also helps to keep your house smelling good
