I try to follow the guidelines set for healthy eating but it is so much food. this is what i eat everyday usually. and i am 5'5 103lbs 20yrs old and female. I go to the gym everyday, i lift 3 days a week, cycle 3 days and run 3 days with some light yoga and pilates.
Breakfast:1/2 c old fash. oatmeal with 1 c soymilk and 1/2 c blueberries, 1tbs flax seed and a 4 egg white omelet with spinich, tomatoes and pepers. Mid morning i will have either some fruit or vegetable with cottage cheese or string cheese and maybe some almonds. Lunch is a whole wheat wrap with no sauce just veggies and turkey with a cup of homemade lentil soup and piece of fruit. In the afternoon i will have either some fruit and a prot shake if i lifted weights or i will eat the cottage/cheese veg mix with carots and celery. at dinner i have tons of veggies with no sauce and chicken or fish. i try not to snack before bed but if i do it is either dairy/soy nuts/or veggies. But isn't that alot to eat?

I wouldn't worry that you're eating too much at all. What you're eating is a very healthy diet. At 103lbs and 5'5'', your body mass index is only 17.2, so you are actually very underweight. I feel a little concerned when someone with a BMI that low asks "Am I eating too much?" I'm not sure which set of guidelines you are referring too. If it is the US Dietary Guidelines or MyPyramid, those are base on a healthy weight, so an underweight person who follows them will gain weight, but that is not unwelcome for you. You are also doing a lot of exercise, and so you must eat well.

Healthy food, when eaten properly does seem like a lot of food. But your diet sounds great. If you think about it, there are so many calories in most of the foods that are bad for you that it doesn't take as much to meet your caloric needs- though your nutritional needs probably aren't being met. So when you eat a really healthy diet, like yours, it does seem like a lot of fruit. I am going to copy down what you wrote and try it. Sounds like a great plan. Good luck!

I wish I ate so well. You're doing beautifully.

The wonderful thing about healthy balanced food is that you can eat a whole lot of it without eating a whole lot of calories. Nothing at all to worry about.

You eat perfectly isn't it funny when you can eat and not starve. I always thought I had to starve on a diet. That seems a lot of food. But hey you are fit and skinny so what is the problem!
