Yes - according to several Vets, dogs DO get colds. Just as in humans, there is little you can do except make sure the dog gets a lot of rest, fluids, and you can give it vitamin supplements to support the immune system as it tries to get rid of the cold.

Be careful you don't catch it, too!

Do NOT give your dog human medication without checking with the vet first. Tylenol is very toxic to dogs and cats. So are any of the OTC cold medications... they often contain Tylenol or other fever reducers without you being aware of it. Dogs can catch colds, but the aren't contagious to people in most cases. Usually they will run their course, but if it's getting severe, call your vet. Coughing can be a sign of kennel cough, and it is very contagious. Your vet can prescribe a cough suppressant that is safe for your dogs.

You need to take your dog to the vet. Dogs don't get colds. But what you describe could be canine distemper and is very contagious to all dogs. Other symptoms of distemper are a temp greater than 101 cracking of the nose and paw pads. Where your dogs vaccinated? If not this is a very real possibility and since your other dog is showing symptoms it is very unlikely to be a allergy.

PLEASE PLEASE Do Not Give ANY dog Tylenol it is TOXIC in dog and cats, as are most other human pain medications, aspirin can be used with extreme caution, best to ask you vet before using.

Why don't you read resolved question asking the same, I just noticed, she is awaiting tests from her vet for canine distemper.

My mothers dog had this problem. It's probably allergies, but I'd see a vet. You can give your dog pediatric liquid Motrin or Tylenol. But my best advice would be see the Vet first. He'll know what to do after evaluating the dog.

dogs do not get colds first of all.... second, is it coughing too? if so,, your dog could have kennel cough ( very contagious) if it is sneezing, there is possibly something in her environment that is triggering the sneezing... dogs DO NOT get colds

are the eating and drinking? if no, take to the vet emergency asap.
if they are eating and drinking still take to vet on Monday, to get them checked out and to get meds. there isn't any home remedy to treat them at home.
