After my nephew's wedding at the dinner they had placemats that the kids had made. It was pretty cool and everyone could take one or two as they were cheap. The placemats were ones that were white or cream that you can get almost anywhere and they picked out pictures of themselves at various ages, both before they were together and after and included shots too with close friends and family. There were actually like 3 or 4 different placemats but it was really cute and everyone loved them.

So basically you take thick paper placemats, pick out lots of pictures of yourself and your groom, friends & family and make a whole lot of copies and then everyone has a keepsake whether or not you have a camera!

Now granted this was not a high tone country club setting it was in a small town in Northern Minnesota but it was fun and something different. And you could use this at the dinner, a reception, an after wedding party, or before wedding party.

Have fun and good luck to the future.

A nice cheap favor is Hershey Kisses flowers you take 2 kisses and put one up right and the other up side down so they look like a rose get you some red Seran Wrap to seal them together, go to the arts and crafts store to find the bendable stems and seal it with your green Seran Wrap. Have your close friends come over to help make them turn it into a party serve Martinis!! Have Fun. and also for your table settings you can use small frames put the table number on them but behind the number put your engagment picture or some nice candid shots of you guys.

This is what I did for a baby shower favor, but it can work for anything. I bought little votive candles ( 25 cents each @ dollar tree ), wrapped them in tulle, and tied them with a ribbon. I attached little tags to them with the date of the shower, and it's a boy! written on them, but you could use the date of the wedding, and the bride and groom's names. All I did was buy some thick paper, cut out little squares, punch holes in the corner, write what I wanted on it,( you can also use a stamp) and tied it onto the candle with the ribbon. You can match the ribbon, and even the candles to the wedding colors. I hope this helps. It's a good idea for when you have a large amount of people, and a little amount of money! Good luck!

Go to Party City and get small plastic bubble bottles (empty) Get ribbon and little silver wedding bands also at P C and fill the bottles with bubbles. Then tie two rings with ribbon around the top of the bottle! When you and your groom leave the reception the guests can blow bubbles. Make extras for quests to take home Good Luck!!

The majority of weddings, favours get wasted or even thrown away.

I Blame the ungratefullness of guests, as favours were a tradition of love to all and good will, these days noone wants sugared almonds... it would be totally senseless of you not to give each guest a widescreen television system each with dvd and audio equipment chucked in.

I'm just speaking for those who cant be happy for you.

If you want to do something unusual and charitable, look into the I Do Foundation. Through them you can make a donation to the charity of your choice and put out cards saying you donated in honor of the guests. It's a nice and classy way to acknowledge the guests and the money goes to a good cause. Plus, who really uses those traditional little favors anyway? Most of them just get thrown away once the reception is over.

My fiance and I are going to give to the Susan G Komen breast cancer foundation in honor of his mother, who passed away a few years ago from breast cancer.

go to your local wedding store.. get some bubbles in the shape of champagne bottles.. think they cost about 50p each.

or if your going for the almond favours.... take a trip to your local fabric store and buy some coloured net and some ribbon. if you cut the net into small circle pieces and add some sugar almonds to the centre of each 1, tie it up with the ribbon and curl it... you will have home made favours which will look stylish and also very cheap..

Matlow (the people who make the sweetheart sweets with the little messages on them) make some with 'just married' and other suitable sayings you can just put a pretty bowl in the middle of each table full of them they come in mini tubes of sweets and are very reasonable - or you could put a couple of packs in some tulle with ribbon tied round to make them look prettier they are under £50 for 100 packs - or as an alternative you could have individual small cakes - a local baker would make them for you with your names or initials iced on them and they can double up as your wedding cake therefore saving you the money for that !

I travel in a social circle of avid readers, so one thing I considered was bookmarks. I eventually opted not to do favors at all, choosing to spend that money and time on other things, but bookmarks can be made nicely and inexpensively on card stock. We were going to put our names and wedding date and a favorite literary quote about love. You can find nice ones in Bartlett's Familiar Quotations. We were going to have several different ones, so not all the favors would be identical.

Well you could download all the songs that you want played through your wedding breakfast and maybe your first dance and copy them. Make copies for all the guests and write something nice on the front then put them in cases on the tables..

Just a thought
