I`m 26 yo and Romanians need a work permit, which I don`t have. I`m going to go there to work as an au-pair but I would like to do smth else in an year or so. Help!

You are free to take up any form of self-employment - you will need to register as self-empolyed and pay national insurance. If you can support yourself you wil have no problems!

For training, I think you would have to pay for most courses, but yur best bet is to check out colleges once you get here on your au pair visa.

It is very likely that in two or three years employment restrictions on Romanians will be lifted, once things settle down a bit.

By the way, make sure that your au pair employers treat you right, don't be a slave to them!

Don't worry if you receive ugly answers from some of the Brits here, some Americans act the same towards Latinos. Eastern Europeans and Latinos should unite and put an end to this!
