He's awfully young to be left alone! Do you have a friend who can come by in addition to the pet sitter? Your little guy needs more human interaction.
Ideally, you could have him stay with a friend or have someone stay at your house.
My husband and I went away for 9 days during our wedding and honeymoon and our two cats (ages 2 and 4 years) had a really hard time with it. We had a pet sitter and a friend come by every day. They were fine, healthwise, but they were really missing us!
Next time, I think we'll have someone stay at our house while we're gone.

If you trust your friend to come once per day and the kitty knows him well enough, then that should be fine. Make sure your friend not only feeds and waters the cat, but is willing to spend a few minutes with the cat (playing, petting, etc.). This will cut down on the loneliness of the cat and the tendency of cats to act out once you get home. Also, you may want to put something with your smell on it (like a towel or old shirt) down where the cat sleeps. This will also help with the lonelies.

He should be OK. Make sure all doors are closed to bathroom and that the toilet seat is closed. Also, keep your bedroom door closed off. Cats or kittens can get very upset because you leave and they will poop in your bed, this is true it has happened to me and also a friend. The best thing to do is try to centralize an area he can stay in. If the pet sitter comes once a day that will be fine. Cats have good instincts and are natural survivors, he will be fine while you are gone. Have Fun!!

I have to say I think I would either have someone to stay in your house and look after him, or board him into a cattery. He is very young to be left alone entirely, and I think back to when mine were that young and all the things they were climbing into, climbing onto, knocking off etc. They are mischievous at that age!
Alternatively, as i assume he has not had access to the outside world yet, and is still indoors... it may even be possible to ask a friend you trust who has some spare time and no other pets, to have him over at their house for the time you are away? I dont think it will traumatise him at that age! All he will want to do really is play!

I really have to say no! I am sure somebody you know would jump at the chance to look after a 12 week old kitten! Do you have any kids in the family. It far to soon to be leaving him on his own. I would even try leaving a note up on the vets noticeboard for a volunteer. People love kittens and would respond I'm sure. please don't leave it alone: (

I personally wouldn't leave him with just one visit a day. As he is little and needs lots of attention if you can possibly get someone in there twice a day then do it. Failing that I'd pop him in a nice cattery until you get back.

He's just a baby - I don't think I would leave with him with just one visit per day. You can put him into a pet boarding kennel very cheaply - at least he would be safe, and you wouldn't be worried.

He'll be fine for four days. If you can't get anybody to go and feed him, you can get battery-operated cat-feeders which work on a timer, so he'll have fresh food every day. It's better if you can get somebody to feed him, but if not, he'll cope.
If you don't want to leave him on his own, ring your vet and see if there's a reputable cattery in the area.

he will be fine. is the person a cat person. tell him to play with him and 4 days isn't that long...he will miss you...but he will be fine as long as he has a full bowl of kitty crunchies, fresh water and litter and a warm place.
