Yeah, it's a hormonal thing.........everything gets on your nerves and it seems the whole world is just insane. Try to lighten up. Your parents only want what's best for you and believe it or not, they will be closer to you once you move out and get a place of your own. Just bare with them until then.

I got preggers and left home at 15-16, so I found out why mom had said and done particular things but I don't think she bothered any more or less as a teen I just wanted OUT OF THERE. I wish I'd have listened to my mother. She didn't drink or do drugs while she was parenting me though just a bit physical which would be called child abuse today. But she knew what she was talking about.

Yes, my parents drove me crazy! All of their cliches, slogans, mottos, proverbs, Don't do this, Do more of that! But as a Young Adult I appreciate them and I wish I would have listened to them. They didn't want me to go down the same paths they did. My mother irked my nerves, she was so nosy. But I'm glad she was because there is just too much stuff to get into. With sex, there's not only AIDS and HIV but there are STDs and STIs. My father was always walking in on something, like a private conversation...But I appreciate my parents...NOW! LOL!

Yes I did and was hesitant to take thier good advice. In the teenage years it is not uncommon simply because alulthood is just around the corner and the need for independence becomes a very high priority in your life.
Try and be patient with your parents as they have your best interests in mind. Hope this helps.

Yes, everything irked me a little more though, hormones. I think my parents made me mad because I started to see that free will exists and that my parents make poor decisions or that they didn't take risks. I realized that it wasn't the flow of life that brings people to certain points in their lives, it is the things that they do or don't do. Realizing that my parents are flawed (as we all are) and that they were in charge of raising me really made me angry.

It's a teenage thing! Guys go through it, but it's worse with girls. We think we know everything, but if we did we would appreciate that with age & experience comes knowlege! I hated my mom as a teen, but as I grew up I wished I had listened to EVERYTHING she had tried to tell me! She's my best friend now, my maid of honor the one I call when i need advice! Hopefully, you won't have to learn things the hard way like most of us! But when you grow up you're going to say, "I should've listened to my mom," and you'll remember Bryan's wife!
The best part is one day I'll have a child and they'll get on my nerves like I did for my mom...and I'll get on their nerves like my mom got on mine!
AND SO WILL YOU!!! :-) HAHAHAHa

i'm a teenager right now, and i've found that the older i get the more things i find that my parents are right about. take the last boy i went out with, as soon as my mom met him she saw right through him. of course i didn't believe her, and then i started to see it too.
i do listen to them, i don't do EVERYTHING they say, but i do listen, and but it in the back of my mind. sometimes they have to much to say, and it gets annoying after a while of their constant "don't do that!"s.

Mark Twain, Samuel Clemmon's pen name, is attributed with saying, "When I was a teenager I was appalled at how ignorant my father was. When I reached adulthood, I was amazed at how intelligent he had become!" The feeling is timeless and universal.
