the 1 in. Chi is better for shorter hair.. it allows for more movement, like performing a flip style in a short distance of workable feed (hair).. i would def. recommend the 2 in. since you have longer hair.. and a CHI is an excellent choice i have heard they are the best.
As for products to use while straightening.. I LOVE Biosilk Silk Serum.. it smells so goooood and allows perfect sleek look without stiff hold.. other good ones are Paul Mitchells Straightening Serum, Frizz Ease, ThermaSilk, BedHead, FX, the list goes on.. just go to your drug store and read all the products of all the lines, you want something that feels light, smells good, and is a serum, and says "smooth, sleek, or straightening balm"... the choices are endless!

when i tell you this plez listen because when i tell people abuot stuff with hair they always end up thanking me in the long run but anyway i would bye a half of an inch plate and get a ceramic plate to make it be Sedu they work awesome ands yes size does matter if you have thick hair or even medium thick hair you should get the half inch plate it might take longer because you only have a half a inch plate but trust me like i said they work much better and if you were going to get a product get and thing that says sleek and shine or stright hair no frizz something on that line ok
Good Luck

I am not familar with the two you mentioned but I have a Corioliss cermanic flat iron that I love. I have medium lenth hair that is very corse. This is the only flat iron that I have used that will straighten my hair with it looking frizzy. My hair actually feels better after using it...beautiful and glossy. I loved it so much that I purchase a second when I burned up the first.

Since your hair is longer than shoulder length, get the 2". It will get the job done faster. The smaller one is for shorter lenghth hair.
Either brand is a good flat iron.
I use Straight Sense by Scenscience or Biosilk Silk Serum- get at Salon or Ebay. Both Work good and makes my hair glossy and frizz free....

You should probably use the 2inche flat iron if you have long hair. I don't know what nationality you are so I can't very well recommend a straightener unless I know what type of hair you have.
