The total culture shock, if you've never been to an far eastern country before. As soon as you leave the airport, it's like being on another planet, with people touting for..anything.
Another thing which is striking, is the level of poverty there.

The best thing about the city of Bangkok is variety. It's a huge metropolis that has something for everyone. You can eat a $1 meal on the street or $100 meal in a restaurant, stay at a hostel or a five-star hotel. Sightseeing, shopping, entertainment, nightlife - the choices are unlimited.
..oh, and it's always warm here.

The tuktuk cabs. They are awsome!! Mostly the temples, the clubs and the very nice people. The thing I did not like was the insane rush hour traffic and the smell of bad fish that seemed to be present while I was there. Although, you will have some of the Best fish dinners there, as the food was really fresh.

The best thing, hmm should only be one thing. To me the best thing is that suppose you are alone, you will never feel lonely. There is always life everywhere, people are friendly, shopping till late, little time to get bored or lonely. Suppose you do not have a friend to play tennis, you just ask a knocker to play with you and you have great fun and easily make new friends.
