The best way I have found to ship animals all over the world is to fly them. It takes less time.
But make sure you have food and water for them.
If you leave instruction's on the crate for the feeding schedule, the air line will feed and water them at that time or close to it. Do research to make sure ALL shots for that state are current or they will be put in quarantine up to 90 days. And you will have to pay for the up keep of the cat for that time.

OOOOH! Well, not Seattle. Or NY. Birmingham? Not so much. Definitely Los Angeles (I might be biased because I'm from SoCal...). Even though SF boasts Metallica, my fave. LA has LEGENDARY clubs. The Roxy. The Whisky A Go Go. Audioslave. Bad Religion. The Doors. Dokken. The Eagles. Guns N Roses. Frank Zappa. Motley Crue. Megadeth. Metallica (kind of since they played some gigs there). Pennywise. Rage Against the Machine. Red Hot Chili Peppers. Slayer. Sublime. Tool. Van Halen. System of a Down. So yes, definitely Los Angeles. And NWA is from there. Haha!

If you plan to fly with your cat: We brought our cat from Germany - you can get small Cat Transport Boxes available at the airport - they are small enough to put under your seat - also aks your vet to give you some sleeping (Travel) Pills - so the pet will stay calm while traveling - the only other way is the Cargo Area - it is very cold and I heard lots of horror stories what the pets go through (even death) - don't do this if you love your pet!!!
If you plan to travel with her in a car - put her in a more comfortable Cat Taxi Box (you usually use to go to the vet with her) - they feel more protected in while driving in a car and also get those sleeping pills from your vet -

The vet is probably going to give you a tranquilizer (in the form of a pill) that will knock the cat out for the flight....my advice would be to have a place set up for the cat in your new home that looks a bit like the one that he/she lives in now to help with the transition.

Consult your vet on this matter. Random answers by online strangers, [no offense you guys mean well] is not the way to go when transporting an animal.

I know you want what is best for your cat. Believe me it's not the airlines. They place animals in the luggage compartment and many times there can be toxic fumes there as well. I now of a friend who's dog died because of it. Please beware. If at all possible travel with the animal.

My cats went from California to New Hampshire. We flew with them and they were fine. What they have you do is sedate them and put them in a cat carrier. They ride as carry-on luggage under the seat in front of you. My cats were fine and I wouldn't do it any other way

Send her via airplane, are you shipping to someone else or are you moving. It is a little expensive I think but the security and safety are important.
