I already reported it and I'm sure soemtime in the next week they will give me a figure. But I was looking for a ball park amount that I might expect. I have a 2002 Kia Spectra. It's in good shape. The other car backed into my parked car and it scraped/dented the bumper. Also it dented the fender around the driver side headlight. No other damage as far as I can tell. What do you thinkg?

I thought I made thia as clear as possible. I know you can't see the car. I did report the claim. I know that an estimate needs to be done. I was asking for a rough estimate based on the information I provided. Thanks "Dodge..." I think your the only one that can read.

Drew, thanks for the lecture. I asked a simply question and you treat me like a criminal. This was my property. It was damaged. I expect the insurance company to give me a fair amount for the damage that was caused by their customer. I am not looking to scam anyone. Just because you and you’re probably used to dealing with criminals in your family doesn't mean we are all out to get a free ride4. Thanks for your useless answer.

Get a estimate and that should be it, you get get a few bucks for a rental. Car accidents and insurance is not a profit center you should not make money nor try to rip off there or your insurance company. What goes around come around.

You should get and only want what you need to cover your damages.

Sorry, I can't see it from here. Even if I could, I'm not a body shop that could give an estimate.

What you will get if the accident was the other party's fault and their insurance is taking care of it, is your vehicle fixed.

Unless the cost to fix it is more than the worth of the vehicle, in which case they will declare it a total loss and give you the worth of the vehicle, and take it away.

What did the body shop say when you asked for a repair estimate? What did your agent say when you reported the accident? That would be your best source of information.

Dude, you need to understand that there is NO way anyone can give you an estimate of repairs if they can't see your car or even know what the repair rates/costs are in your area. I do this for a living and it's difficult enough when I inspect one in person.

I'm an insurance agent and the first thing you should do is reported to the insurance of the person who hit you and after that they would have to do an estimate and then they'll look in the blue book to see how much you're car is worth

Take it to the body shop you want to do the repairs. Get an estimate. Do not settle for anything less than this amount. They will try to get you to take a check for their figure, or get you to take it to their "preferred" shop. You do not have to do this. You can have the work performed wherever you want, and they have to pay for it.
