YES. AB and O make an A (AO) or B (BO) child. This is coming from the blood bank manual from the department in the lab where I work in blood bank. Your friend is right.

Yes, but only if the man is O positive. Here's the science behind it, I'll try to keep it relatively simple!

Basically, there are three types of blood - A, B and O, but each person has two different chromosomes coding for it, so your blood type will be AO (A), BO (B) OO (O) or AB. Although O is the commonest in the UK, it's actually autosomal recessive, so a women with blood type AB and a man with blood type OO will be capable of producing babies with the blood types AO (A) or BO (B).

The rhesus factor (whether the blood type is positive or negative) is difficult to explain, but basically, two rhesus negative parents can't produce a rhesus positive child.

if the woman is AB Negative and the man is O Negative the child will be either A Negative, B Negative or AB Negative. however if the woman is AB Negative and the man is O Positive the child will be A Positive, B Positive or AB positive.

Stranger things have happened, Blood types are controlled by multiple alleles. Someone would have to carry the trait or a mutation would have to occur in order for that to happen. It is very unlikely if the parents are OO and AB negative

Go to www.blood.co.uk.
Go to the link "all about blood" on the left hand side
This has a blood type calculator,
put in both parents blood groups and hey presto it gives the possible blood groups of the child.

do a DNA attempt and settle it as quickly as and for all. i'm now no longer particular, yet I do think of the father's blood form could additionally play a piece. regardless of each and each little element, isn't O the customary donor and AB the customary recipient?

is the guy negative too?
You just said he is o.
2 negative parents can't make a positive baby.
