Lol If anyone could tell me a few things to know about dogs, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm sure you're kidding. Have you tried doing a search on your computer using a search engine like Yahoo, or Google? I can't understand why you can't find information when you have the world at your fingertips with a PC.

It used to be we'd actually have to get our **** off the couch and go to a library. That works too -by the way.

When you're done with your essay, try exercising your imagination and creativity by doing something that isn't electronic (making it half-done for you). That way, the next time you have a problem to solve you can try using the problem -solver attached to you all the time - your mind, (which, by the way, also has electrical impulses running through it). It is the best resource you have, and will assist you in finding additional resources every time you ask it to!

Dogs are a pack animal with four legs, 2 eyes , a great sense of smell, hearing. they are very social animals that communicate through actions rather than words.

Hope this helps, even though I do not know why any one would have difficulty with an essay on dogs LOL as your local library would have many books on them.

Is this essay on dogs in general or can you do it on a specific breed? The rat terrier is a great little dog and was actually named by President Teddy Rosevelt.
(The Rat Terrier is an American breed descended from the terriers brought over by English miners and other working class immigrants. These terriers probably included crosses between the Smooth Fox Terrier, the Manchester Terrier and the now extinct white English Terrier. These dogs were used as ratters, and gambling on their prowess in killing rats was a favorite hobby of their owners. Some of these dogs were crossed with Whippets or Italian Greyhounds (for speed) and Beagles (for hunting ability). Eventually, these tough little terriers evolved into today’s Rat Terrier. The breed was popularized by President Teddy Roosevelt, who frequently hunted with his Rat Terriers. Many are still used as ratters and squirrel hunters, particularly in the South, where they are sometimes known as “Feists.”
The Rat Terrier was recognized by the United Kennel Club on January 1, 1999.)
Here's a site that will give you excellent information.

You could start by saying that much of their behavior is based on the fact they once belonged to "packs" and even though we have bread them for certain characteristics they still are very much seek to belong to a group. When placed in a house with people they look as the people as part of their pack.

You can even go to a local dog park and see the interactions between dogs, its very interesting. You can even take this theory and apply it to human behavior.

Also there is a book called "The secret life of dogs." I found it to be very helpful.

There is a quote that I likeand it drives some Religious people nuts, "of course there are dogs in heaven, it woud not be heaven with out them!"

Well, dogs were founded a long time ago. Indians used them for hunting and protecting. Dogs today are normally used as a house pet or a watch dog.

They are pack animals and understand pack relations. There is always the alpha male and female, Domesticated dogs should view the owner as the alpha. And there is always a rank and order in a pack, as when you bring them into your home.
Dogs are wonderful companions as well as service animals. They offer protection, aide to the disabled, and unconditional love.
