i have this friend that's been flirting with me for the longest time- but he has a girl- then rescently he broke up with her and he started getting intimate with me [[he holds my hand wen we're together, he cuddles me, and he kisses me]] but he never said anything about us going out. everybody else thinks that we are a couple but he never asked me out. can you be somebody's girlfriend if they never asked you out? what do u think about this situation?

Why don't you ask him out? Just in case. But this situtation is very complicated. He may be a jerk you know, because you said that he had a girlfriend and he was flirting with you.

You could simply ask him out and remedy this whole situation otherwise you'll simply remain an emotional placeholder
