from enjoying your mother in laws company to thats you actually care what happens in big brother....to smiling when you feel yukky...to how crushed you feel by someones crass comment....anything goes...;0)

No matter how I feel, at work I need to be supportive and energetic and positive (or at least I need to be straight without being cruel). Which means I have no energy left to pretend when I'm off.

i pretend i like doing my mother in laws shopping, though every one knows its a lie (even her!)
i pretend the words dont hurt, and pretend im a strong person.
even when the world is falling to pieces around me, too many peope depend on me.
i feel like im everyone elses rock, but im really clinging to a blade of grass. ;)

Everyday i go to work (I'm a paediatric nurse) and i smile and be happy even when i feel empty inside.
I do this because there are sick kids who need me to help them and there are parents who need me to give them some hope.
Sometimes we all need to pretend even if it is not to benefit ourselves. We should all remember our pretence benefits someone else, for a while at least.
