When you pass away, do you wish to be a donor? If your loved one had expressed a wish to be a donor, would you honor his / her wishes when the time came? Why / why not?

My father had a heart transplant almost 13 yrs ago. In that 13 yrs he saw the birth of 3 grandchildren, the weddings of my brother and myself(not to each other lol). My oldest daughter graduate high school and enter college. Not to mention all the other wonderful memories we have. When I die I will donate any and everything I can so that someone else has a chance to make more memories. My father Died on Jan 2nd of this year, I'm so thankful for the last 13 years I only wish he had more time to spend w/ us but the 13 years he did have were full of Life. Thank god for the donor and his family. May my father and his donor now rest in peace.

I'm an organ donor and a blood donor. I figure I'm dead...gone. I've no use for my organs. If they can help someone...save someone's life why shouldn't they have my organs? Better in someone who can use it then rotting away in the ground. Now my ex...he was the opposite. He doesn't beleive in it at all...almost like he's afraid he'd feel it...nuts I tell ya! I reccomend everyone to become donors...there is a huge shortage of donors!
If a loved one wanted to be a donor you bet I'd honor their wishes. I'd think of it as a little bit of them living on in someone else. :)

Yes, I wish to be a donor. I think that it is so worth it because you can help out so many people. Your body will be put to good use and could save many lives, instead of just sitting in the ground. I think that everyone should consider this.

I have signed my donor card and have informed my children that if I am in brain dead status they are to follow through on my wish to donate any usable organs, rather than keep me in a vegatative state with machines for years. At that point in time I would have no further use for the organs-so allow them to be used for someone else.

i'm not sure i want to be a door, don't know why, just not sure, if someone else wished to be a donor, yes, i would honor their wishes because it's what they wanted and that's what it would be all about, not what i might or might not want, actually i see nothing wrong with being a donor, just not sure yet if i want to be one. have a great day and i hope you're not a donor for a long time!
