Can some one tell how to build a homemade chicken incubator?

that it doesn't involve wood, please! only inexpensive materials or easy yo work with material!

We did this in grade school. We had a small box (cardboard) and had a 40 watt bulb about 1 foot over the eggs, and they hatched.

this is going to be difficult due to eggs need to have a constant temperature of 99 degrees for about 28- 31 days with moisture. they have cheap incubators at any local farm supply store that holds 3 chicken eggs for about $20 . It all depends on how many and what you are trying to hatch. If this is a project you are going to need a Styrofoam container ,small bowl, a thermometer,1/4" screen and a heat light.
place the screen on the bottom this will keep the eggs from rolling, fill bowl w/ water for moisture, drill hole for light cord, silicone around hole after wards and place thermometer inside, you can get a wafer thermostat to help regulate the heat at farm supply or check out www.strombergs.com who have everything you will need including the eggs! cardboard box with a towel to lay the eggs on, a thermometer to get the temp at 99F-100F, and a small bowl of water. You might need another piece of cardboard to put ontop of the box to get the temp right. You will need to rotate them about every 8 hours. A small fan to place in the box with the eggs would help to.
