It is a gimmick in bread because baking heats it and kills the omega 3. The lactic acid in milk does the same thing. Try flax oil, refrigerated at your local health food store, or Smart Balance buttery spread from Walmart--they both will do the job. Best of luck.
To Edward W--the FDA is the biggest joke in the country. They are run by the pharmaceutical companies and anyone else with big bucks. Trust them?? That's really funny!

Omega 3 is very important for helping with your cholesterol levels so it is not a marketing gimmic. The health benefits are great as it gets your the Omega 3 that your body needs without having to take a pill or eat tons of oily fish.

All oils from any food product or supplement are most likely rancid (air, light, not being cold-pressed, being kept unrefrigerated causes them to go rancid quickly, although they probably taste OK). Rancid oil does more harm than good. Also even if it was fresh, the omegas are unbalanced. The only real good oil is exactly that: GOOD OIL. http://www.goodoil.co.uk/products_oil.php It is the perfect balanced Oil including all Omegas in the perfect ratio for humans. I would recommend ordering online as it is probably much fresher than the ones that are kept on the shelves under bright lights in the shops & unrefrigerated. I love to mix the GOOD OIL with tomato puree & use it as a pasta sauce. Oil should be kept refrigerated & should never be heated above 100 degreesC.

Yes a gimmick I'm afraid. They will think of replacing it with the next big thing, goes round and round, In fact, years ago bread had by law to contain a very small amount of iron filings! It's all a ploy to get you to Buy Buy Buy!
