I am having a new kitchen fitted. Beech units with chrome handles, black worktop and chrome cooker. What colour (s) of tiles do I use around the worktop and on the floor. This is driving me mad and I need to decide. Don't want anything that will date quickly and I'm not keen on laminate flooring....

If you went with some sort of multi colored slate flooring you could pick up one of the colors in the floor for the tiles...I do agree that some color is necessary at this point...I would head for the reddish end of the spectrum but that is just me...Black work surface, eh?

As you have a black worktop you def need to add in some colour. How about a subtle plainish pattern tiles in a mint green. This will feel fresh and will be nice to cook in. You could get slate look floor tiles, these are very nice but can be cold and are pricey.

truthfully talking you have too a lot occurring already! in case you have white cupboard stay removed from beige stay interior the cool colours ,choose a easy gray counter splendid on account which you're putting blue tiles on the returned splash ,choose for a white and grey floor end rather. till this kitchen is closed you're able to desire to circulate this way, yet whilst it extremely is an open thought it extremely is going to conflict with the warmth tones then you definately could desire to re-examine the kitchen cabinets and choose for a beige rather, if so you will need heat shade , like crimson, browns , beige. Get some paint chips and positioned them jointly facet by skill of facet and you will see the difference or in case you like a textile %. the colors out of that .

I have stainless stell appliances, granite countertop that is black with rust mixed in. I used rust tiles all above the countertop and up to the cabinets above. I guess like a backsplash.
I did the floor with brick pavers. The brick is harder to clean because it isn't flat but it looks nice. We had white tiles before and I hated it.
