I swear by zantac. It is a tablet and therefore not chalky like most other over the counter cures which I find ineffective. It usually works by taking just one tablet, in severe cases two may be needed. If this doesn't work, I would suggest a trip to your GP for an investigation and treatment.

Although it seems contradictory, the best antacid is apple cider vinegar (Bragg's organic with the mother is the best, you can find it at some regular groceries or at health food stores--it really does make a big difference over the ones you will find in regular grocery stores).

Take 2 teaspoons in a glass of water three times a day. You can add a little honey or blackstrap molassas if you need to change the taste.

Maalox or Mylanta are the ones docs recommend most often but if you have it often get it checked out at the docs office as he may want to try a prescription med to keep it under control. Pepcid aka famotidine, tagamet aka cimetidine and Zantac aka ranitidine are tablets that work well too and are available over the counter.

It depends. Different antacids will work differently with different people (maybe psychological) and different situations. Of course the different brands will claim they are the best. Try one yourself to find out. What works for me may not really work for you. If your indigestion occurs often, might be wise to see your doctor. You might need medications more potent than antacids.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew!! None of the above. R u sure you aren't lactose intolerant?? Try cutting out dairy - milk, cheese, butter, cream, chocolate and icecream - foods, everything with lactose in it. Make sure you supplement your calcium either with a supplement or a calcium enriched milk alternative. Maybe soy milk or rice milk...........

I have this problem. My doctor told me to take pepcid complete, and it works wonders. Try it. And good luck - it is surely not a fun thing to have!
