Since time immemorial there have been wars among the human race. Todays world is no exception. There is arms race in the world. Nuclear tests are being done although there is an NPT resolution. In future each nation may develop nuclear weapons of mass destruction. What will happen if every nation is allowed to possess nuclear weapons ?

ARMS RACE?!?!?

Where were YOU during the Cold War?? If anything, the world has vastly fewer nukes today than it did 20 years ago!!!

This isn't an arms race... this is simply a few medieval countries trying to get nukes. If they have a nuke, then they can have economic power. If you don't believe it -- what other explanation is there for Russia (with a combined economy for 400 milllion people that lags behind the State of California) be seated at in the Group of 8?

If you don't want countries to be "allowed" to develop nukes... then what is your answer? Hell, we already have 2/3 of the Yahoo Answers crowd b*tching about the Iraq invasion... and we KNEW that Saddam had 600+ tons of uranium (and we found it!) along with the remnants of the nuke program that ended with the Israeli bombing circa 1982.

Are you gonna go into North Korea? Iran? Pakistan? Are you gonna bomb China and Pakistan for selling this technology? What are you willing to do?

No, the lesson learned from Iraq is that we can't invade to stop a dictator getting nukes. We have to wait until he DOES have nukes before we invade. Isn't that right, anti-war people???

arms race.. if allowed to continue will help in the piling up of a huge amount of ammunition in the world and then only 2 scenarios will arise.
1) nobody attack any other one because of the fear of his retaliation because he also has the power to defend himself..
2) some bungling fool might start a war and it will quickly spread to all nations, plunging the world into another world war.

if the people are sensible enough, they will then create a peaceful world for atleast another 2 centuries or so. else, the ruler will dominate, and the future will depend entirely on his decisions..

Arms race as you mention will continue in the world and no one can effectively stop it. In any case world will not be wiped out as the nations having nuclear weapons will ensure its survival for fear of getting wiped out alongside.
