The Blessed Virgin Mary conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit.

THE FAMILY OF JESUS
Noah #10, Abraham #20, Matt.1:1-10; David #34, Ruth 4:18-22; 1Chr.3:1-17;
Matt.1:11-17; Jehoiachin #48 2Ki.25:27-30; and Jesus #62 son in genealogy.
Matt.13:53 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables,
he departed thence. 54 And when he was come into his own country, he taught
them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said,
Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? 55 Is not this
the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James,
and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? 56 And his sisters, are they not all with us?
Whence then hath this man all these things? Philip.2:5,9-12; Heb.4:12;

No. That was how the Catholic doctrine of Mary's perpetual virginity came from. They looked at the evidence available, and found nothing suggesting that Mary and Joseph had children together. Mary was a sworn virgin of some sort, and Joseph was an old man who already had children.
And I believe Jesus' brothers and sisters were martyred in the years following the Ascension.

Well the Bible clearly makes mention of them:
Matthew 13:55
Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
I'm pretty sure only by Tradition have the Catholics claimed a genealogy to a contemporary of Jesus, Peter that is.
It is quite possible they felt compelled to listen to the following scripture from Jesus:
Matthew 23:12
And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

It's very interesting, I assume those who are descendants of Jesus' family are dispersed in Palestine, or throughout the middle east who have since converted to Islam hundreds of years ago, and perhaps some fled to Europe over a thousand years ago, perhaps some even died in WWII, were exterminated by the Germans.....it's a possibility.

Do websearch for "Biblical archaeology - family of Jesus" there is quite a bit of information there. But more may have been "lost" due to the "keep Mary a perpetual virgin" thing.

If their bloodline survived to this day, there would be a lot of people carrying it.

Great question.
I don't think James ever married, but I never really thought about this one before.

It's impossible to determine that-the textual evidence just doesn't exist.
