When a person receives Jesus as their personal savior, he comes to live in their heart. At this point, the Holy Spirit indwells the Christian. When a Christian commits a sin, the Holy Spirit will convict them and make them feel guilty.

Who hasn't sinned in some way before they became a Christian - that's sort of the point!
We often highlight some sins as worse than others - if you were going to argue that there were some sins that made Jesus more angry than others you wouldn't choose sleeping with someone outside of marriage (you'd probably have to go for something closer to "religeous arrogance that creates more hoops for people to jump through before they know they are acceptable as they are before God"
C S Lewis (20th century theologian -who wrote Mere Christianity and the Narnia books) talks about some sins being essentially good things in the wrong context.
So sleeping with someone in a situation of mutual respect, love and comitment (ie you're not having a string of one night stands - that most people would say is just unhealthy) is just a good thing but not the best.
God has a better thing in mind - It sounds like you don't need an other lecture on the benefits of sex within marriage.
I wonder if what you've been lacking is some input on the concept of Grace... a much more important concept in Christianity than virginity or lack of it.
God really likes you. He thinks you're great and he loves to be around you...
And anyone who implies otherwise or makes a big deal of your past (pre or post conversion) that you've dealt with, with God... tell them they need to get their heads around grace too.
Good luck!

I am not married - and have never been married - and I have been having sex for a LOOOOONG time. I feel no guilt at all. What that means is that my acts have been loving - and I don't believe in the BIBLE. I am a very Spiritual person - and I am very close to God. I don't believe in sin. Well - I do believe in the acronym SIN (Self Inflicted Nonsense)
If you're asking why YOU didn't feel guilty - I really don't know. But if you are now into the Bible - I'll bet all of those beliefs are MAKING you feel guilty. Unfortunately - many religions are based on guilt.
Ask yourself.... was anybody harmed because you had sex? Did it involve dishonesty, cruelty, lack of compassion - etc.? Is there any moral or virtue that was disregarded in order for you to have sex??? If not - then why should you feel guilty?

It could mean that, or it could have been you satisfying a sexual curiosity, which is normal. If no one got hurt, then what would there be to be guilty about.
Did you ever disobey, your parent, or guardian, as a child, or teen. Were you distant from them when you committed that sin, of not honoring your mother or father. Probably not. It was curiosity.
Don't beat yourself up over this. Most of us have done it. Talk to a priest in confession if you really want some kind of absolution.

Well I feel that you were probably too young to worry about it when it happened and now it's been too long ago to care. God isn't some overbearing jerk, He understands life and why we do what we do. As long as we try to live by His word and do our best, I think that's all we can do. Oh yeah, since you are asking this question, I think that is called conviction or else it would have never crossed your mind in the first place.

there will be a time that God will convict you of the sin. perhaps right now, He wants to establish a relationship with you first, then as you change, the sin will feel like a sin. i will pray for you!

If you don't, don't feel like you should. I'm not sure coerced guilt is honest.
What does it matter anyway when the Christian religion states that the only rewards go to believers and sin doesn't matter?

Regardless, you knew it was wrong.
Lots of people don't feel bad when they sin, that doesn't make it right. Such as speeding, gluttony, not giving a full tithe, etc.

Perhaps it just means you've forgiven yourself - and that would be a good thing.
That's one of the points of repentance and forgiveness, so you don't have to feel that way any more.

Could've been you were not close to God, or could have been that at the time you knew your love for the person was looked upon favorably by God.
