I adopted an Akita which are known to be temperamental and most homeowners will not insure you if you have one but I wanted to give this dog a second chance. He was not raised properly or socialized so I thought with time and devotion he would come around. The dog was completely devoted to me but dislike everyone else. After a year he got better and better a adjusted, however one day he just snapped. I had brought him over to my mother's home and we were sitting there talking. The dog got up walked about 3 feet and then for no reason lunged at my mom. My mom was severely injured, both bones in the forearm were crushed and her left thumb was severed. I did try with all my power to stop the dog but nothing worked except cold water. The attack was classified vicious and unprovoked so the county ordered the dog destroyed.

Yes I've been bitten/attacked it was my dog and it was a doberman of very poor breeding i was very young and didn't have a lot of money or experience at the time.I got both of my hands mangled and had to go to hospital and it was not pretty.it was an unprovoked attack and i don't know what caused it. The dog had exhibited this behavior many times before but being young i thought i had a really tough dog but instead i had a dangerous dog. I had a doberman before,a female of German breeding and she was the perfect dog so when she was about 9 i got this dog and what a mistake that was. Was married and just had my first child so the dog had to go to doggy heaven. So after being off work for 10 months i learned a lot about CHEAP dogs. Then i got a QUALITY GERMAN/GERMAN SHEPHERD went to school to become a dog trainer where i learned about behavior and genetics and been breeding and training for 30 years now and am still learning today. LOVE MY DOGS AND COULD NOT BE HAPPIER. ALWAYS BUY QUALITY NOT SOMEONES JUNK

My aunt has a rott/lab/bouvier mix. A couple of summers ago, we were up visiting her with our 2 dogs and our children. The dog had not been any kind of trouble to us and had followed my boys around a lot that day looking to claim any snacks that hit the ground. When she was near my son, she bit his hand, completely unprovoked. My husband, who was a few feet away, got inbetween the dog and my son and the dog proceeded to show aggression to my husband as well. Fortunately for us, my American Eskimo didn't take to that very well. She immediately put herself inbetween this dog and my husband and son. She then proceeded into a 30 second scrap with the dog to put her in her place.

Since that time, this dog has bitten many people and shows obvious aggression issues. IMO, this dog is dangerous and should be put down. These days, on the rare occasion we are there, my aunt ties the dog way out in the back yard so that this incident won't have a repeat occurence.

I have a Shih Tzu & went I went over to my ex's place he had gotten a Samoyed. He had it tied up to his garage, now keep in mind, this dog had been someone's pet for 7 years and had been allowed free roam in a fenced in back yard. Anyway, the kids were all playing with it so I walked up there and was petting it and didn't know my Shih Tzu had been let out of the car and my dog walked up to it, they sniffed eachother's noses and in one split second the Samoyed lunged forward and grabbed my Shih Tzu in the middle of his back and started shaking him. My dog was literally screaming, it was so scary. I started yelling at the dog (a lot a good that freakin' did) because since I work with puppies as a Kennel Tech, I just didn't want to hurt the dog. The Samoyed dropped my dog and just as I was about to pick him up, he grabbed him again, this time by the neck. I knew if I didn't do something, he would kill my dog. I was getting ready to grab the Samoyed's neck when he let go and my dog finally got away.
He had deep puncture wounds on his back, where the other dog did most of the shaking.
I took him to the vet, got antibiotics and he's fully recovered.
My ex, got rid of the Samoyed....only AFTER the dog tried to bite at one of his kids.

I walk a lot & have had many incidences: my Rottweiler attacked by a loose German Shepherd on a rails-to-trails path; my Boxer attacked by a Border Collie that jumped a fence in a suburban nieghborhood; my Boxer attacked by a loose neighbor's German Shepherd in my neighborhood; my Boxer attacked by a scruffy white little terrier looking mix that snapped it's chain in a suburban neighborhood; and so on.

My dogs are very well socialized & have had obedience training - not one provoked it, or even fought back. Each time, I kept moving away, kicked & yelled till the other dog backed off or the owner came out & got their dog.

I have been bit by a friends Collie that just sauntered over & bit me when we both were riding our bikes slowly in circles on her driveway when I was about 8 years old (the dog was old & getting in bad shape, they put her to sleep later that summer). Also bit as a teen by a German Shepherd a friend owned - he was tied up because he had been acting aggresive, but I went to pet him because I thought he liked me - now, years later, I know to NEVER approach a tied-out dog, as I have learned tying makes them more territorial & aggresive.

My family had a pekinese that we 'shipped' from the Philipines to the USA when we moved here. We can only guess that he was abused by a shipper with gloves becuause he would attack anything with or near a glove when he arrived.

I was bitten/attacked by a shepard once... I was at a softball game sitting calmly beside him then went to screaming at his owner to run 'home'.. He misunderstood... Actually, he calmed right down quickly and I only have a few small scars on my arm to show for it.

I'm not really sure why you are wanting to know, but I did have two dogs a few years ago that were attacked by coyotes. Thankfully we heard them fighting out in our front yard and went out and shot a gun up in the air and scared the coyotes off. My dogs were a chow/greatdane mix and the other one was a coon dog. They didn't seem to be hurt just a little nervous.

yes i was going over to see my best friend "i was like 8 years old", she had a chow, he was a family dog and when i get in her yard he came running from around the side of the house and bit me in the butt and i had to have 16 stitches. This is not the first time i had been to their house, i guess that is why they kept him chained to a tree.

Collie - 20 years ago - on the grounds of a convent - he was there for protection and I invaded his property. I was riding my bike through their grounds.
I now have a Schipperke. Don't get near me or he'll rip your throat out. That is his purpose - protect his Mom.
If he does not sense a threat, he's the neatest, most lovable dog in the world.
