A fortune teller may be honest or dishonest. What you must understand is, what happens when you strongly believe on something. Spirits possess people according to the mental state of the human beings. This is an all time phenomena occurring in all humans. Human beings are always under the influence of spirits. Often thinking and talking about bad subjects or bad imaginations even for fun can take serious turns on one who think and talk. There is no problem if a fortune teller says good but if he says bad? You have to live in an unnecessary scare. This very scare and thoughts may cause some effect in your life. If you believe then it will happen even if he had lied to you about your future. Now you can decide yourself.

I wonder whether we can accurately trace the mechanism by which fortune tellers read the future. I would like to learn the process by which that happens.
Most of what I have read regarding fortune tellers indicates that they ask vague questions to which their "clients" unknowingly give revealing answers. The fortune teller takes this further information and runs with it.
"I see sadness, I see a death in the family.."
The client mentions Uncle Ernie.
"I see a man, his name is "Ernest.."
That's the sort of thing I mean.

I would never trust a fortune teller and would advise your friend to ignore all they say.

My crystal ball tells me that most (if no all) fortune tellers are fake, They say something and watch for your reaction. Did you know that many of them work from scripts?

No, go on youtube and look at some of the sylvia browne videos from where she screwed up on the Montel show. It is wrong to rope in people who are grieving the loss of a loved one.

Many of these are simply cheats. But that does not discount the efficacy of true astrology, which was developed into a true science in ancient India.
