Little is mentioned re: China and their military...especially with what's going on in the Middle East.

Is this China's way of letting US know....they're still "in the game"?

This was a just another example of boneheaded Chinese diplomacy.

Both the US and Russia abandoned their anti-satellite weapons 20 years ago because of the danger caused by space debris. China's recent test just increased the amount of hazardous junk in space by 8%. This has annoyed every nation that either owns or leases satellites.

I am not concerned about China starting a war as a matter of deliberate policy. However things such as this incident concern me because it demonstrates that the Chinese do not think through the consequences of their actions and as a result can start a war through simple bone-headedness.

china has been requesting the US for some time to sign a treaty on resricting the military use of space, the US has refused. you didn't expect china to do it by itself did you.

yeah, they are... and?

Russia and the U.S. can already do this, so it was just a matter of time before China joined the club. The world is getting more dangerous every year. Welcome to reality 101.
