Emphatically not! Perhaps you were not aware that Hawaii is an American state? That's like asking whether you need a passport to fly to Miami from New York.
You also do not need a passport to visit a US territory, so if you fancy visiting Puerto Rico, Guam or American Samoa, for example, you can travel with other forms of ID.

Hawaii is the 50th state to join the union. It's a real state with two senators and members of the House of Representatives. You do not need a passport to travel between the Continental U.S. and Hawaii, just a drivers license or other photo ID.

No you don't need a passport to go to Hawaii. Last time I checked it is still considered part of the United States. You only need a passport if you are leaving the U.S.

if you are a united states resident with a us id/driver's license, that's all you need to travel to Hawaii. Hawaii is the United States.
It's like taking a plane from Texas to NYC, you don't need a passport.

Trucker said it best. It's the US and no passport is required to travel within your own country.
By the way it is spelled Hawaiian Islands.
