YEah, they do..

Snipers are long distance assassins (Long Distance Selective Target Removals).

If a person leaves the military and then joins a private group to do military / combat action, then yeah, they become mercenaries.

But do they train people to specificly become mercenaries, not really, insurgents, gurrillas, freedom fighters yes, mercenaries, no.

Do they train people to go out and do high profile assassinations of heads of states and corperations, not really.

Well, not exactly. Assassinations are against U.S. policy.
And mercenaries are produced by contract agencies, not the military.

Most of the really deep spy sh*t is performed by individuals without government affiliation. And most of those folks dont exist anyway.

Each branch of the military has different special teams and groups like the Green Beret, Seals, Special Forces, etc. Their missions, regardless of how secretive and sensitive, are documented. Though, documentation may never see the light of day, no operations performed by our nations military comes in violation with policy, procedure, or the set rules of engagement.

Yes, I guy I know from Colombia was actually in a military "elite" group trained by CIA agents, previously mercenaries from te US Army. They were trained to fight the guerrilla and provide the government with intelligence to fight the cartels, he now works for an ambassador in Europe.

definitely, and electricians/mechanics/public speakers/cooks/teachers, etc.
the military trains you. as with any society-it takes all kinds, and, yes, some people in the military are trained (and very well) to kill. they must do that to protect your right to ***** about it.

Yes...there are a ton of programs that the government has in place that we don't know about...they are all classified!
