I say no - I just think lifting them while they are sound asleep is just training the bladder to want to pee in the middle of the night while they are still so sleepy they don't know what they're doing rather than training them to last as long as possible. I know I'd be very fed up if someone tried to do the same to me! My mother in law insisted it was the way to do it so I tried it once with my eldest and he got so upset I never did it again and all 3 of my kids were dry very quickly without any further interference. If your daughter is dry through the day then the night time will come - but let it go at her pace. She is still only 2 and being dry through the day is very good going so relax and let her sleep - uninterrupted rest is what she needs most.

I taught her by example. She wanted to do everything I did before bed, so after the bath, and brushing teeth, all I had to do was add in using the bathroom before going to bed. She started going as I would before getting in bed and presto dry through the night. Of course there will be those times where they fall asleep early, or are too tired to go so you should use a pull at nights until you have had a few successful weeks.
If an accident ever happens its no big deal don't make a fuss, just take it in stride and let the child know that accidents happen and tomorrow night she/he will be a big girl and go in the potty.

YES! She is only 2, there is no problem w/ that. She probably just began using the potty during the day. You are just helping her from 1 stage to the next. Many children r not even potty trained by 2. I believe they should be, but many are not. I have a 5 year old I still wake before I go to bed at times if I know he has had an exhausting day. Yes he is big enough to use himself & he does, but sometimes I know he is beat, & he is a heavy sleeper, so no problem I go in, take him to the potty, & tuck him back in. Your child will not become reliant on it either. She just may need some help at night, after all she is sleeping! Then before you know it, shes doing it herself. She'll be staying dry, & she'll be proud of herself.

the question is has she learned how to go to the toilet, when she gets up in the night or can hold on till the morning that is when for sure she is ready, however takes a while for the mind to learn things, its all about practice really, you will know the answer to this when there is some consistency with the behaviour, mothers intution is always great here. so yeah try not lifting see what happens,

if she is going to the bathroom before bed and you are not giving her fluids within 2 hours of bedtime, then she is just physically not ready yet. i understand that it can be frustrating but a childs bladder grows similar to the rest of their body. you cant make her grow any faster than nature allows.
at this point i would not consider this a problem, most children have accidents until they are 4 or 5. if she is still wetting the bed at 5 then you could contact your doctor but at 2 i'd say she would be more concerning if you said she never had an accident.

You can try this but it still may not keep her dry all night long especially if she is a deep sleeper or can't go into the bathroom on her own at night yet. She's still pretty young and her body may not be ready to stay dry all night long. It can't hurt though.Try putting a small potty chair in her room at night. We did this and it worked because our daughter was ready but not ready to go into the bathroom and climb up, etc. on her own yet. Don't worry about it-it'll happen and it's better not to rush it. All kids develop different things when they are ready NOT when we're ready.

No don't wake her to go to the restroom. You will create a monster. She will not teach herself to get up and go when she needs it. Besides if she wakes up you may have an energetic ball of bouncy 2 year old that will be awake for hours.
Changing nappies for another couple of months is a small price to pay for a good night's sleep for mom and baby.

No i wouldn't as she'll get used to this, my sons 2yr 7 mth potty trained for about 5month just to reassure myself and him we put his special pants on for bed (pull-ups) He's dry 99% of time I always make a really big fuss of this each morning telling him what a big boy he his no wee's in the night and after a full week reward him with something small like a colouring book, magazine telling him what it's for.
