If you are truly being stalked, and I mean harassed and followed and all that involves.....you need to put a protection order against him. To do that you need to file at the sheriff's department in your town. Then you need to change your phone number and all that protective stuff. Protect yourself any way you can.

Notify the police and get advice from them. Laws differ in each state. Let the ex know that you no longer want any contact whatsoever. Don't tell the ex that you can still be friends or anything along that line. Don't give the ex what can be perceived as an open door or any hope of a reconcilliation. Then document EVERY encounter with that person. You'll want to be prepared and have evidence and documentation in the event that you'll have to go to court. Always let a trusted friend or family member know where you are and what time to expect you in the event that you cannot be found. Stalking is very serious and should be treated seriously. If possible take a self-defense class and ALWAYS prepare for the worst case senerio. Also educate yourself on stalkers so that you can be prepared to handle whatever situation comes your way. Be careful and good luck.

First you should call the police because stalking is illegal and dangerous. Second, you need to keep a journal or notebook and write down the time/date/what happened each time. If he/she leaves voice mail or email messages you need to either write down the time/date/what was said, or print out the message if you can.

You need to be sure he/she is really stalking you before you call the police though because someone can go to prison if found guilty and if there is not a threat of harm it won't be considered stalking.

Need to know really what they are doing to warrant stalking. But if it is unwanted and continuous then I would warn them by phone or in writing or text to leave you alone otherwise you will not hesitate to call the police. If they don't stop call the police and they will deal with him / her.
