The first time I quit, I used a filter system that cuts down on the amount of smoke called One Step At A Time. I lasted for over a year, then got drunk at a party and started up again.

The next time I quit, I went through a stop smoking program at a hospital. That lasted a very rough two months.

The last time I quit I went to a hypnotist. That was over 15 years ago. I went from 2 packs a day to nothing in one night. It was a little tough the first week or so, but I haven't had any urges to go back and absolutely cannot stand the smell of smoke or smokers.
It really doesn't matter what method you use, just stop. If hitting your big toe with a hammer every time you get the urge, then limp around smoke-free. Do it now, I can't tell you in words how happy you'll be when you realize you've conquered this. Good Luck!

Ok - sounds weird - Hypnotherapy.

There's tons of bunk out there on the net but a good website is
www.greatfun.com
It's 15 dollars for a cd, and you can listen right before bed. It is hypnosis, is safe, and works. The only downside is, not everyone can be hypnotized.
You have to honestly be willing and yearning to QUIT
and you have to believe in hypnosis.
I was skeptical, but I used his lose weight now cd, and I began to notice within days. I cut 20 pounds, and they have not come back!

Good Luck!

I read "the easy way to quit smoking" by allen carr. He really explains why we think we can't quit and how we really can. It is a great book that will help you quit. I had no cravings when I quit. And I smoked for 18 years.
