And please, don't confuse the religion itself with muhammad(pbuh) or ones that are in the religion. There is a difference between them. Just as there is a difference between religion and culture. Explain why does one who believes islam is a false religion think it to be false or a fallible religion? Keep in mind, the religion is the religion. Muhammad(pbuh) is a man. A prophet. He is not islam.

Eldad9: I saw the guy who wrote that book on The Colbert Report and it seemed Colbert was able to prove him wrong. It was actually rather comical.

fourmorebeers: It was not the comical side of Colbert that had me laughing, it was what he said and explained it very well. Keep in mind he is a jew and yaweh is the original GOD. The way he said it was something around the premise of, "So you are telling me that a GOD that does not exist made a beautifull creation that we define as the universe and settle inside of mankind. But GOD is a dellusion". That is not exactly how he placed it, he said it more articulated and with more structure. But the look on the authors face after his discussion just had me laughing. Like as if he knew Colbert was correct, but was so stuck on his own delusional truth that his arrogance would not allow denial. As if he was here to please the masses and could not turn into a hypocrite on tv. But I saw it. I will try and see if they have the video on you tube and place the link.

I hate to disagree but since Muhammad defined Islam you can't seperate him from what it is. That would be like seperating the prophet Jesus from Christianity.

Either sheer ignorance or stupidity and I base my definition of ignorant and stupid on a saying: "Ignorance is not knowing hence the wrongdoings; stupidity is knowing yet persisting in the wrongdoings".

"Islam is a religion that is essentially rationalistic in the widest sense of this term considered etymologically and historically....the teachings of the Prophet, the Qur'an has invariably kept its place as the fundamental starting point, and the dogma of unity of God has always been proclaimed therein with a grandeur a majesty, an invariable purity and with a note of sure conviction, which it is hard to find surpassed outside the pale of Islam....A creed so precise, so stripped of all theological complexities and consequently so accessible to the ordinary understanding might be expected to possess and does indeed possess a marvelous power of winning its way into the consciences of men."
(Edward Montet, 'La Propagande Chretienne et ses Adversaries Musulmans'. Also in T.W. Arnold in 'The Preaching of Islam')

"If any religion had the chance of ruling over England, nay Europe within the next hundred years, it could be Islam...I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him - the wonderful man and in my opinion for from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the Savior of Humanity...I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness: I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today.”
(Sir George Bernard Shaw in 'The Genuine Islam')

"I hope the time is not far off when I shall be able to unite all the wise and educated men of all the countries and establish a uniform regime based on the principles of Qur'an which alone are true and which alone can lead men to happiness."
(Napoleon Bonaparte as Quoted in Cherfils, ‘Bonaparte et Islam’)

"In the eyes of history, religious toleration is the highest evidence of culture in a people....It was not until the Western nations broke away from their religious law that they became more tolerant, and it was only when the Muslims fell away from their religious law that they declined in tolerance and other evidences of the highest culture."
(Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall, 'Tolerance in Islam')

"The Islamic teachings have left great traditions for equitable and gentle dealings and behavior, and inspire people with nobility and tolerance. These are human teachings of the highest order and at the same time practicable. These teachings brought into existence a society in which hard-heartedness and collective oppression and injustice were the least as compared with all other societies preceding it....Islam is replete with gentleness, courtesy, and fraternity."
(H.G. Wells)

If men create religion, then why not look at the men who did so?

What is the main difference between Jesus and Mohammad? Jesus walked, helped and loved, while preaching. Mohammad wrote "what God said" and then decreed jurisprudence as in a "new" testament, in two phases: one angry, the other loving.

If you believe that people should care for each other (not communism), then it's hard to envision Islam as a *new* religion of peace and love; It (Islam) suggests that Christianity needed improvement.

Islam says that Moses and Jesus are prophets of the new religion (further attempting to prove that Islam is a more advanced religion); and then claimed that there can be no other "new" religions; ie.: Islam is perfect and is thus the last.

Since perfection is the prefect of God, it could explain why some believe Islam is a false religion.

Well thanks for the pointer regarding Dawkins appearance, just watched it. though how you could possibly think that a comedy show played for laughs proves anything is beyond me...

As I said I just watched it... its a COMEDY show, Dawkins knew it wasn't to be a rational discussion and didn't try very hard, he played it like a good sport, he winced because he's heard all those statements a million times before as have I. Do some research, Dawkins is probably one of the smartest men alive today, Colbert is.... a TV host.

The Turkish daily Milliyet reported that the editor of the Armenian-Turkish weekly Agos Hrant Dink has been killed by two shots to the head in front of his office building in Istanbul.

This quote from this weeks news sums it up. Islam won't even tolerate those who seek to examine it. They refuse to come to the light of a true examination of their beliefs and teachings and they kill those who try. Also this week hidden camera's revealed Imam's teaching in western countries violence against the Infidels so they are indeed teaching violence even among us much less in their own countries where thousands of children are prepared for martyrdom and Jihad from early youth.

Because Muhammad is a false prophet, either he was being deceived by Satan taking on the form of an angel of light or he was the deceiver himself.

ok, here goes.....
Jesus Christ is God.
Any religion, even one that refers to itself as christian, that does not recognize the diety of Jesus Christ, is a false religion.
I do not think Islam should be singled out.
It is only one of many, many false religions, groups, sects that do not believe Jesus Christ is God and were created by Satan and his minions to decieve the world.
