It's happening because a bunch of ill-informed neoconservatives who know little or nothing about history decided that they wanted to be the biggest kids on the block and didn't realise that other people have memories. There's a saying about the difference between Wellington (who commanded an army) and Nelson (who commanded ships) that Wellington could afford to call his army 'the scum of the earth, enlisted for drink,' but Nelson couldn't because he was on the same ship. Unfortunately the USA - and some others - have forgotten that we're all on the same spaceship Earth.
On your second point: well-taken, but I think you'd have problems using small covert strike units against the religious right and the NRA, who are up towards the top of the list of the true enemies of America - America at its best, that is.

because these places are a loarge area for terrorist and we are over there fighting a war on terror and trying to develop Iraq. What people dont get is that there are other people in the world besides us in the U.S. and that every human being has the right to feel safe from an avusive dictator and from terrorist attacks. The U.S. is over in Middle East countries protecting the U.S. from terrorist attacks and showing the world that our country cares about others than themselves by helping a country who had an abusive dictator who killed thousands.

We haven't invaded an under developed Middle Eastern or African country.
If you're referring to Afghanistan, that's the other side of Persia. We went after terrorists and those who supported them.
There are NO African countries we have invaded.
The rest of your question is bunk and made up of assumptions.

Jeez....60 years ago, attacking back at people who attacked you first was considered SELF-DEFENSE.
Your alternative is actually just one part of what we've already been doing.
Here's why Bush went for Saddam over Osama: Osama has killed thousands in all...but it totals less than 10,000..not sure of the exact figure. Saddam is estimated to have been directly responsible for the deaths of 2 MILLION people.
This wasn't just an Ahghanistan exclusive conflict...it's about a dynamic that's existed for thousands of years all over the Middle East. Removing Saddam was a good thing....but leaving Iraq in the state it's in now would be criminal considering we got the ball rolling on that one!

Bingo! You hit the nail on the head! There are terrorist cells all around the world. Are we going to invade each of those places as well?
Let's vote for change in 2008.

I am unaware of anyone invading any middle eastern or african country presently, with the exception of Iraq, and some trans border invasions in sub-saharan africa.

Because they are easy targets, I'd like to see us take on China or Russia and get over with it so we can take our place as the rightful rulers of this planet.
