So long as you are in good health, and have had plenty to eat and drink before you donate; you should suffer no ill effects from donating blood. Your body will replenish the fluid volume (the saline) within 24 hours. The plasma, platelets, red and white blood cells take a bit longer to be replenished, between 2 weeks to a month (but you won't even notice they are gone). Donating blood will not harm you. They screen all potential donors, and perform a few simple tests on you before you are even considered to be a donor. If you do not meet the criteria, you will simply not be allowed to donate. You can of course try again at a later date. As far as the health benefits. While there are none for the donor (other than basic vital sign screening, and testing for disease), your pint of blood could save the lives of up to 10 people.

Donating blood is a very good thing. It helps your body make it easier to make why for your new blood cells that is normally produced. It also give life to others that need blood. Therefore giving blood is a Very Good thing. Today's screening of giving blood is very safe and no harm can come from giving blood. In today's world the ones that give blood are hero's to the one that need it. It is also a good way to bank your blood donations just in case you need a blood transfusion in the future.

donating blood is, of course, vitally important to the person who is in need of it, and it certainly does no harm to the person donating it. The body can easily make up that lost pint of blood, and if things are the same as I remember them, the recommendation is that a donor give no more than a pint of blood every month. My husband is an A. negative so his blood was especially welcomed. He used to go regularly every month.

Your body is constantly producing more plasma to circulate the blood cells around, and more oxygen carrying blood cells are constantly produced as well. As long as you wait the required time and remember to remain hydrated, the body will be just fine.

It wouldn't be bad unless maybe you did it too often. When you go to give, you could ask them.
