I get chapped lips a LOT and I have to keep buying and putting on chapstick. When I do put it on it gets all glossy and makes me look like I have lip gloss on.

The store brand is usually not glossy. the way to keep Carmex from getting the glossy look is: put a little on your finger or Q-tip then put it on and around the infected area making sure you rub it in real good. Carmex is an antibiotic ointment safe for your lips. In order for it to work you have to make sure it is absorbed in to the wound/skin. Not just on top or around the skin.

The one I use is from the Body Shop and it's not glossy, but it does come in a girly pink tube and it does cost $5.00 each. I'm allergic to everything else so I have no choice, but you might not want to spend that much. Although right now they're having a deal at www.bodyshop.com, if you buy 4 of them, they're 4.00 each.

My husband and my sons use the basic Chapstick brand which is not girly or glossy, have you tried that? Make sure it comes in a basic wind-up tube, not a squeezable tube with liquidy gloss in it. Check the package because sometimes they also have color added. Good luck!

I bought my husband the Clinque Men's chapstick. It does not make your lips glossy at all, plus it has SPF 15!

Blistex makes a good chapstick specially formulated for men. My husband uses it all the time. Wal-Mart sells it and its pretty cheap.
