You are the proud owner of a cat with a tape worm.
The cat gets the worm when they have fleas, they groom themselves and eat the fleas then get the worms.
Take kitty to the Vet to get a flea treatment such as Frontline and to get her a shot or pills for the tapeworm.
DO NOT try to treat either of these things with OTC medication.
First of all they don't work, and second they may be very dangerous to the cat.
I hope the Vet gets kitty sorted out.

It's not normal for bugs to come out of a cat's butt. Keep an eye on it. It could have just come from somewhere and be a one time thing. Make sure you are cleaning her litter box frequently and examine her poop when you scoop it. If there is anything unusual, get her to the vet immediately. Change your sheets and if you get more bugs in your bed, you might need a new mattress and/or a visit from an exterminator. Sometimes bugs just get in the house, and if it was a one-time thing, there's no problem, but keep your eyes peeled for more and if they are in you cat, your cat is in danger!

Sounds like worms. My cats have both had those before as kittens, very common. Now if the worm had a blackish or reddish "head," that's a grub. I'd get a new mattress if that's what it was. Just check kitty's poo to make sure they don't have worms.

Did it look kind of like a grain of rice? Sounds like tapeworms to me. When cats clean themselves of fleas they often eat them. If a flea eaten by your cat was carrying tapeworm eggs then your cat could be infected. Make sure that's what it is, then get her some tapeworm medicine... I think its around $25 at petsmart.

Yeah, it's common alright but it means your cat needs to be wormed as it is infested.
