Your right, tithing doesn't just pertain to money it pertains to everything time, money, spirit, breath... We must give God everything in our lives.

Tithing is an interesting concept. I mean, how many churches are there nowawdays and how many teach different things about tithing. I heard a good example once about tithing. Say you have ten apples, and I just ask for one of those apples (that one could be considered your "tithing") But with that one apple I am going to make YOU a really good apple pie. It's the same with us when we give tithes to God. Although we might make an offering, he will send us blessings back. Now, if you're a religious person, you got to make sure you pick the right religion, so you're not just making some pastor rich.

Everything you have comes from God. He only asks for 1/10th back and then says to test Him to see if He will not bless you if you give it cheerfully. Mal. 3:8-11
The Israelites paid tithe of whatever they had....their firstfruits. We can do that also but most people think of it only as in money. Whatever God blesses you with (your increase) should be tithed to show that you realize that it comes from God and that you want to honor Him.

I think tithing is misunderstood. God doesn't need our money. He wants us to give of our first fruits for our own sakes, not His. It is in tithing that we learn some of life's lessons - giving, sharing, sacrifice, honoring God. The Bible even says that if you don't have money to give, don't give it, because then someone else will have to help you. Tithing is not just money, but our actions, words, thoughts, deeds.

I understand it. I hear truth, thank God. You are right, I owe God everything and can cheerful return it to my very faithful Father. I remember Able and if people could just get THAT lesson, they'd understand the sovereignity and never changing character of God, and as a result, revere and respect Him as He should be.

We are to be good stewards of what is God's. Everything belongs to him. By tithing I believe it shows God what is important to us, do we think more of God or our possessions.
