Due to the Scarcity Principle and the Cost-Benefit Principle.
Boundless wants cannot be satisfied with limited resources. Therefore, having more of one thing usually means having less of another. Beacuse of scarcity, we must make choices.
As for the Cost-Benefit Principle, an individual should take action if, and only if, the extra benefits from taking the action are at least as great as the extra costs.

Yes, there is. I offer people free services and products all the time. I've given away valuable things at no cost as well. If you can find someone with the gift of a giving spirit, then yes, you will find that some things truly are FREE.
