My cat has always sucked my earlobe ever since he was a kitten, he does not like to do it to anyone else but me. He kneads my neck at the same time which kinda hurts but i dont mind.

Does anyone know why he does this? Does anyone elses cat do this?

probably taken from his mum to early and has bonded to you instaed, he thinks your ear is a nipple.

My cat used to try to suck on my earlobes - I think he was attracted to the shiny earrings that I wore. I finally broke him b/c it hurt!

As to the kneading, my cat does that to me also, and no one else. I think he's just more attached to you and wants to show you affection. My cat used to be more attached to my husband, but then he left for a year long deployment, and now he doesn't want to have much to do with him. So yah, the kneading is a little painful at times, but your kitty means well, I believe, he's just showing you he loves you too!

Most likely your cat was weaned too early. She now thinks you're her mommy. She sucks your ear like a nipple and kneads your neck to stimulate milk to flow. Even though she's not getting milk (at least i HOPE she's not) she still finds this very comforting. As far as the kneading hurting, it's very easy to just nip off the sharp part of her front nails (don't go too far down) with animal nail clippers that you can get at any pet store (I even found one in a grocery store). I'm sure that would make it a much better experience for you.

I have had two cats that have done this, one when I was little and the one I have currently. It happens when the cat is taken from it's mother too soon and is not fully weined. After awhile they usually stop actually sucking on it and just lick. It's just like a blankie for them. Kind of a safe place. It's not weird, I even asked my vet about it, they told me to keep him away from it for a week and he would forget, yea right! The thing I like to do is just put my cat's attention on to something else, like a ball or toy mouse. See if that helps you. Good Luck!

I think your cat was taken from his mother a bit early in his life. I had a cat who lived for 20 years. I found her as a very small kitten and she used to give me lovebites on my neck. I didn't mind. She used to knead cushions, me etc as well

My cats do the same thing it is a comfort thing. It is there way of knowing that they are safe like security. I have had this one cat since she was a little kitten i was even there when she was born but now she is 3 years old and she still does it.

I have a cat similar to this situation. The cat was probably taken away from his mother too early and now he thinks that you are the next closest person to his mom. I have a blanket that has strings of thread that are about 2 inches long on the bottom of the blanket and he sucks on it and puts his claws in and out and he is 3 yrs. old.

My cat licks the inside of my ears if she can,i've heard that cats knead for comfort[it goes back to when they where kittens with their mothers]and if they suck at wool clothes its because thet where taken from their mothers at too young an age

Your cat was probably taken from his mom too young. This is what they do when they nurse. The kneading stimulates the flow of milk from a mother cat.

my cat used to do the same thing...she would knead on my shoulders and arms. It is because they were weened way too early and its a bonding thing! Cats also produce sweat and when they knead they are releasing their sweat. I know it sounds really weird but its true.
just try and get him out of the habit of doing it.
good luck :)

The kitten was not weened off its mother before taken away. Or it could be relaxing to the cat if he does it and falls asleep , it puts him at ease times when he was a kitten with mom.
