She seems confused, and isn't getting into "position" to feed them. She keeps just moving around them like she doesn't know what to do. Now she has separated 2 from the other 2.. she lets me and my mom touch them. We don't know why she keeps separating them.

Anyone know anything about newborn kittens and the mommies?

I believe she seems confused because she is. This is obviously a very young mommy's first litter. You & your Mom may have to help her out a litte here until she "gets it". Go into the room with her and the kittens and first, pick her up and give her some "cuddles & love" and then, if she has them separated in 2's, go to the first ones with her. This may take both of you the 1 st time or 2. Get a towel, and sit down on the floor with the towel across your lap, holding "Mommy on her side and bring the babies up to her and they wil each find a teat. Now, the Mommy kitty may not like this the first time ( and she may, no way to tell, except to do it). If you can get her to lye still on your lap or floor with 2 of the babies nursing (and make sure that the Mommy cat is comfortable and not going to "bolt"), have your Mom hand you another one, and just wait a little bit to see how she is going to do, and if you're REAL lucky, you may just get them all nursing. It may take several times of helping her do this before she get's the idea. Hang in there, kiddo--who know's? Someday you might want to become a mid-wife. Now, if this little Mommy cat does NOT take to this idea, you are going to have to get to your vets office or local well-stocked pet food store and get some of the new-born kitten formula and bottles. Please do NOT give the kittens milk like we drink because it may give them diahreah. And now, after the kittens are well on their way into growing up, it's time to find them nice homes and have Mommy spayed.
Good luck to you all and have a nice time in the "Nursery".

Caretaker is totally right! The mom cat obviously feels that the two kittens that she moved are going to die. This is expensive, but what you need to do is buy special kitten milk formula, or goat's milk works. You also need to get a eye dropper, or a special bottle that you can find at pet stores. You can also find the milk formula at pet stores. Try it, but if you see any sort of sign of something wrong take the all the kittens and the mom to the vet ASAP! Just remember, NEVER give a cat or kitten cows milk. It is very bad for there system. Best of luck with the kittens. I hope everything goes good for you!

You should contact a vet and have them check out all of the cats. She may sense there is something wrong with those two. You might try helping her get into position. You didn't say how long ago she had the kittens. Could it be that she is still hurting from the birth? Good luck!

If this is her first litter,She may not know how to feed them.Have
your mom help you and lay the cat down on hr side and hold the kitten in you hand and with your fingers place the kittens mouth around the mothers Brest and hold them there not their head, just
see if you can get them to suckle from her. The reason she is moving them is because they need their privacy. She will hide them because she don't want anyone to bother them. She most likely will put them all back together if you leave them alone and let her do what She want with them.To her she is keeping them safe. Just like your momma would you. you can pet them and play with them when they get bigger. Have fun watching them grow.

CARETAKER is correct. More than likely it is because the mother cat knows that something is not right with the other kittens that she is staying away from and feels that they are going to die. Just try and feed them with a dropper. It is expensive, but they do have cat supplement milk. Just try it and at the first sign of something wrong, take immediately to the vet.

Multi cat families are astonishing issues i've got had 3 diverse gadgets of kittens at diverse situations with diverse mothers. i've got carried out retaining the different grownup cats seperated from the kittens and the mummy grow to be in no way the comparable lower back along with her sister I desire I hadn't bothered seperating them. yet on the time i did no longer have faith the kittens to no longer come to any harm, stupid now in hindsight. the 2nd clutter I enable her have the kitten contained in the kitchen the place the cats sleep at night and that all of them have been given alongside large however the mummy grow to be constantly consistently shifting the kitten I did pass it lower back to the place i wanted it yet gave up contained in the top who am I to intervene? She grow to be sensible adequate. Your queen in basic terms realizes that's going to likely be extra advantageous for the different cats to work out the kittens now somewhat than later to maintain her having to adhere up for them. the two that or she is observing out for possibility all round her yet no longer likely. If the male cats do no longer look too bothered by way of their presence and the queen is comfortable enable them to all be.

NONONONO!!! DOn't touch the babies. They might start smelling like you, and the mother cat will think, "thats not my baby, it smells like humans. You have to save those two cats. Pet the mother cat.
When my cat had kids, she left her kid to come sleep on my bed. I had to close the closet door with food and water. She and all her babies survive. I comforted her, and it seemed to help a lot.
Comfort her, and if she wants, leave her alone, but keep checking on her

ps....my cat had 7 kittens, and they all survived.

Does she have a soft lined box to to make her feel secure? If not, put one or two out and show her. Put it in a private place so she feels unthreatened. If you already have one, you can't really do anything but let nature take it's course or call your vet. Good luck.
