Sausages, either andouille or polska kielbasa. (Anybody know the code to get that slash through the l in kielbasa?)

A couple of different things are good: Ground meat cooked and added to bean mixture.
Smoked ham, bacon or ham hock

Good Luck & Blessings.

Cook the meat in with the beans-it seasons the beans as well. You can use bacon, ham, a ham bone, hamhocks, polish sausage, or even neck bones or ribs. Venison is also good. It depends on the type of meat you prefer.

From a country cooking perspective bacon actually goes in with the beans while they cook. My mother and grandmother always did that. Beyond that, I would recommend pot roast, though you are dealing with a long cooking time for all of that if you planned to start from scratch.

Ham is good with beans. Bake it.

I'd suggest some sort of pork product! Also, some flank steak or cubed steak would be great too.
