No! "In the beginning was Word, and the Word was made flesh (Jesus) and dwelt among men." I love anything about the Bible because I know this is the Lord talking to me if I will listen. The things that happen in the Bible was to teach us. And other things happen in the Word to give us hope and help us to believe. We are suppose to learn from other people's experiences. And...we must have a reverence fear knowing it could happen to us if we don't obey the the Lord. When we love the Lord so...much that all we want to do is please Him, we will have no fear of the other things of Satan. "Perfect love cast out fear." Jesus said. I will remember you in my prayers.

What scares people more than anything about the bible, is the lack of understanding in some areas. It can be scary if you lack understanding but once you have understanding of the parts that may seem scarey. You can be very enlightened and moreso very encouraged. No, it isn't scary. It is a love letter. Yeah there is some violence, and some rough things in there, but nothing worse than you see in this life as well. But there is also love, kindness, compassion, sacrafice, friendship and the list goes on of what it offers.. Goodluck, the more you read, the more you will get understanding and the greater you will feel. Its funny the people that say it is just a story, just a fable, fantasy. Are the same people that are looking for the same things in a relationship. Respect, committment, love, loyalty, trust, morals, values, all things the bible teaches. The more people that read it, the better people would treat each other. "IF" it was nothing more than just fable, what is wrong reading something that offers you how to be an upright person?

The bible never scared me, when i became a christian i did so because I wanted a better life, and someone told me about the rapture, it was the best idea, to leave this mortal toil and rise up into heaven. but i now know it could be an imaginary even that might not ever happen, because of other things like the RESSURECTION.
Anyway, psst, the movie Hannibal scared the crap out ofme as an adult. My dreams used to be full of terror and non ending scenes of murders as i take the LIFE experiences of these people who are about to die into my own heart. Terror like that cannot be equaled even when watching the movie.
i always walked the walk and talked the talk when it came to preaching the gospel, but after every thing i hoped for was destroyed i became dissillusioned with religious dogma and i have come to just exist as shell of life in this world.

The old testomony scares me somewhat as there grow to be a covenant there, enacted interior the Exodus, that required obedience, God could reject and punish them in the event that they weren't living as much because it. a number of the subsequent historic previous of Israel coated somewhat a lot of failure, as they could no longer stay as much as the standards given them. New testomony says this grow to be a preparatory point the place they have been stored in faith, even though it grow to be unsatisfactory. the answer is the recent covenant, the place Jesus will pay the cost for all you evil deeds, previous, present day and destiny. Your nature gets altered once you have self assurance in him as your Saviour, after which you would be able to freely acquire the help of the Holy Spirit to make you like what's sturdy and do what's sturdy, and likewise relish God's presence, that's extremely advantageous as on a similar time as he's punctiliously organic, he's likewise completely Love. So the imputed righteusness given to the believer is a actual boon. we could desire to consistently do particular issues so God's grace can rework us after that, including prayer and reading the Bible to work out God's attitude; that's an infinite progression on the old covenant. i think of you have been attempting an "old covenant" mindset to God.

The cruelty part doesn't scare me. I can pick up a newspaper in any city or town and see where people do horrible things to each other. None of the bible scares me. For me, I'm more frightened of what my life would have been had I not known the Lord.

I am NEVER SCARED by my FATHER's WORD! It was written for our use, not it's abuse. We can find a number of people that are as wierd today that you hear about in every newscast. GOD placed them in the BIBLE for our study. HE sent HIS SON so that we would have an opportunity to be in Heaven with them in the after-awhile. I would take this time to read, study, and obey HIS WORD then continue to study with a group of CHristians. Have a great day!

No, it does not scare me...

People are still just as cruel to each other...

I do not know why all of the killings, tortures, etc. took place (and it is not on my top priorities list to find out why)...

I try to concentrate on the things that Jesus told us to do.

Definitely NO! What scares me the most is reading all sad stories on the newspaper, about the current wars and all the children who are suffering because of that. If you compare our news with the Holy Bible, the Bible certainly seems like a fairy tale....

Not the Bible, but God - epecially in the Old Testimony. He's quite cruel there... Later, in the New Testimony he becomes suddenly very loving and forgiving... Kind of a puzzling thing for me...

The Bible is only a book, so does not scare me. What does scare me is people who ignore the spirit and message of the Bible, because they are unrestrained in their selfishness.
