I don't drink wine at all on a luncheon date, whether it was the first one or not, or even a date. I prefer to keep my senses unimpaired, fully in control, and alert during the day. I reserve any type of drinking for evenings when I am more likely to be with trusted friends and family.

Be yourself and if wine is what you desire go for it and screw what they think ....... what signals could a glass of wine be sending?
Be proud of who you are and show your true colors from the start and if they don't like it well ... you found out early how shallow that person is..... time to move on and find someone who will like you for you! Amen sister

I don't see a huge problem with it but I do think a dinner date would be more appropriate as long as you know your limitations. Since you are asking it seems like you don't think it is a good idea either and you just want confirmation It really just depends on how the date is going and how comfortable you feel with him. It's fine...it sends the signal that you like wine. Cocktails or beer/wine are okay on a lunch date...no reason for them not to be.

For lunch I would say probably not that's kinda of early in the day to start pounding back drinks,a dinner date would be a better time!

Booze and lunch................. not. Especially NOT on a first date. It is a lunch date because it is meant to be more casual... this guy is smart and just testing the waters. Have a non-alcoholic margarita or something. "I" personally, though, would keep it to something simple, like "bubble water"!
