NO to both ankle weights and boots....their both dangerous and a waste of your time....if you want weighted anything when running get a 'weighted vest'
as for workouts
Concentrate on your hamstrings as your quads dont play nearly as big a role(but should be done none the les)

Squats(front squats first as they'll force you to keep better form......where your butt comes into contact to you calves, I dont care what your friends say...thats the way to do it)

Lunges(yeah I know their hard when you first start but they build your legsvery well)

Calf Raises(standing/sittin/off the stairs it doesnt matter just do them alot)

Deadlift(stiff leg and one leg....these will build up your hamstrings...and again DO NOT LISTEN TO YOUR FRIEND 'BECAUSE THEIR CUT AND LOOK LIKE THEY KNOW WHAT THEIR DOING' ask a professional...your gym teacher even, I dont really care if its a girl/guy)

Leg Curl...another good hamstring exercise...especially when done one leg at a time

Exercises to avoid.....Leg extension....its simply a waste of your time

Do not run in timberland boots!! The concept is good, but flawed. To acheive the same effect, buy a pair of really good running shoes (you want your feet to be supported) and then buy ankle weights.

Strap the ankle weights on to your ankles and go. Run almost everyday as fast and as far as you can.

Do things to improve lung function, too...

My school does the BFS program and its pretty good except we do paddle bench instead of regular bench. Diet make sure you eat lots of protein and vegetables. and for baseball you don't want to be exactly ripped you want to stay flexible to so you can throw the ball faster. try to get more of an "athletic" body

Michael Johnson was the fastest man for a time. How he became so fast was developing his legs. Learn how to parallel squat safely to build you legs, then hit the sidelines and do gassers (sideline to sideline to sideline) with ankle weights on. Do three with them on and three with them off. By the time football starts you will be faster.

One more thing, go out for track. Right now, call your track coach and tell him you are going out for track. The practice will help you also prepare for football.

seriously the best thing to do is run in some timberland boots. trust me ive tried it. the boots are heavy and the more u run the more you get used to them. therefore making u a lil bit faster then u were.

Maybe you should learn to spell before you worry about how fast you run sonny boy. You can't play if you can't make grades you know.
