1. Fly to Sydney or Melbourne and take a package trip. Look for beginners ski packages online. they usually provide transport to the snow, accommodation and meals. Some will include ski hire, lessons and lift passes. There are plenty of options.
2. Accommodation will be covered by the package.
3. All equipment is for hire including some clothing but check with the resort before you go. You will need lessons and lift passes too. Budget for them if they are not covered in your package.
4. Everything to do with skiing is expensive. Hire your equipment the first time and buy later if you intend making it a regular event.
5. Don't go for less than five days on your first trip. It will take some time to learn the basics and then you want to enjoy yourself.
6. If you want snow, go in August or July but not June. Don't go during the school holidays.

Scotland and Austria,Both have great skiing,You can get there by plane,You can rent the ski,s and ski boots.
The best time to go is from late October up to The end of April.
You will need a ski lift pass,And it will cost £125 for 7 days.
The ski/ski boot hire is £75 for 7 days.
You will be better off with a package holiday that includes all the necessary equipment in the price of your holiday,It will also include the cost of beginner,s ski lessons
