have plastic bowls that are white, but stained with tomato sauces. Tried bleach but doesnt work. any ideas....

There isn't really anything you can do that will remove this completely. What you can do to avoid having this happen again is to either spray the inside of the plasticware with Pam or any other oil in a spray before placing tomato sauces inside the bowl. You can also put freezing cold water in the bowl first and leave it there for a couple of minutes before emptying it and filling with sauce.

Keep in mind however, that if you heat the sauce in the bowl in a microwave, you'll get the stains, no matter what.

You microwaved those plastic bowls, didn't you? Lemon juice rubbed directly on the stains and then left in sunshine might lighten it some but mostly you're stuck with orange bowls. You could even put a few tablespoons of lemon juice in water and nuke 'em again...the heat might open the plastic enough to release some more of the tomato sauce.
