a You will have to #1 make sure the iron is cool.
#2: Mix rubbing achahol with a teaspoon of water
#3: Have a scrubbing pad and dip the pad into the achahol and aply it on the curling iron.

***** Warning**** Let the iron dry before turning the iron on****

Hope this helped.

While the iron is hot, try using a damp cloth to remove the residue.

Some times rubbing alcohol will take this off. If that doesn't work there is a product sold at Sally's Beauty Supply that will take it off

Okay first UNPLUG the iron. Never attempt to clean it while it is hot or plugged in it will ruin the iron or burn you (duh, and too much water could electrocute you too). So yes rubbing alcohol does work and so does nail poilsh remover. Soap and water witha damp towel? only if you have the time to scrubb it off and feel like hurting your arm from all the pressure...
Hope this helps
Be safe!
