How do other lyric writers get someone to write the music for their songs? I have one that I have an idea of the melody but I can't write notes, How could I get the songs melody right?

You can record your song on cassette. If you don't play an instrument, just sing you melody. There are societies for writers, ASCAP, BMI and SESAC. They have offices in New York, L.A. and Nashville. You can contact them for help in finding a melody writer in yur area and other advice. I would suggest ASCAP. You can also contact the Nashville Songwiters Association if your lyrics are country. well if you can play a instrament the try to listen to the sound and write down the notes as you go along.
its only easy to remember the notes heres a trick
the notews on the lines from bottom to top stand for Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge. and the notes IN between spell FACE.
Hope i could help you could also start a band and get like the drummer or guitarist or whatever to do you work. Just ask the instrumentally gifted.

If you can play keyboard, there are computer programs that will write it out for you as you play it. Sibelius is one that I know of. These programs can do lots of other things with the music once you learn the program.
