Recent experience and gathering of statistics (last 10 to 15 yrs), in the field of drug and alcohol rehabilitation, show a dramatic increase in success when a "faith" based approach is used.

Not that drug and alcohol addiction is "ethic" at its core, but ethics can play a LARGE part in the introduction to; and progression of the culture involved.

The same evidence that if you told a little kid not to go into the closet at night because the boogie man was in there. It's putting the fear in man to attempt to create some kind of ethics.

I just read an interesting book that answers your question and provides you with the evidence you requested. It's called "Who Really Cares?" and it's about charitable giving in the USA. Do a search on Amazon for it.

The author studied tax returns and came up with a definitive answer as to who really gives the most to charities. He broke his data up into several groups, young vs old, democrat vs. republican, and Christian conservative vs other faiths.

I rather think that if it wasnt for Gods warning, people would have killed each other the minute they were conceived.

God informed Adam of the apple and informed him not to eat it least he may commit something God has forbidden.

At every angle and turn, humans have received some sort of divine inspiration.

The laws that govern us have been inspired by God.

If evolutionists are correct, and we've come around through evolution, I dont think we would be able to develop into anything more than apes if we hadnt received some sort of inspiration to guide us.

There is no evidence .
Religion may unite people to act in unison but ethically it is subjective on the belief system in charge.

Most religions cause ppl to "obey" out of fear, get better at hiding their actions or to justify them as righteous in the eyes of their version of god.

From a young age up, I knew that I would answer to God for everything I said and did. I knew that God knew all things and nothing was hidden from God. When you love the Lord, you want to please Him. There is nothing wrong with teaching, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, because that is what the word of God says. There is nothing wrong with teaching there is a hell and a heaven, because Christ spoke a great deal about both.

When one fails to teach the Word of God, the Holy Bible, then one fails humanity.

religion doesnt help people behave more ethically
fear makes them behave more ethically
fear of what may happen if they dont
however there are good genuine ethical people both in and outside of religion ... who try to do their best for the sake of just doing their best
