He has no origin. He is the Alpha and Omega, beginning and the end. I sometimes wonder why people with no true interest in religion except to slam God even come in this section.

-Where does the atom originate from?
-Where does food originate from?
-Where does water originate from?
-Where do the galaxies originate from?
-Where does life originate from?
--Answer those questions reasonably , get the full picture of the knowledge of just how much science does not know about the above---then proceed with your contempt. Please note just one expression of humility , that you might benefit from:

Albert Einstein, the noted physicist, is said to have peered deeper into the secrets of the universe than any other man. The secrets he has fathomed made him no atheist, as he admits: “It is enough for me to contemplate the mystery of conscious life perpetuating itself through all eternity; to reflect upon the marvelous structure of the universe, which we can dimly perceive, and to try humbly to comprehend even an infinitesimal part of the intelligence manifest in nature.”
--Did you note he said "to try humbly to comprehend......"
-You put "god" in the contemptous lower case, so why ask if you "know" he does not exist?
You know your defense mechanism is very obvious, are you scared that you might find out that nobody knows the answer you so disrespectfully posted? ---And that He still exists?

God has always been. I can't understand how God could have always existed—but that doesn't mean it isn't true! God is far greater than anything we see around us, and the Bible reminds us that He is "the high and lofty One ... who lives forever, whose name is holy" (Isaiah 57:15).
One reason we have difficulty understanding this is because even time itself was created by God. Before time began, God already existed! This is why the Bible calls Him "the Alpha and the Omega (which are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet), the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End" (Revelation 22:13). Part of God's greatness is that He is eternal. Unlike us, He had no beginning and He has no end.
The Bible, however, also tells us another great truth about God. It is this: Before time began, He was already preparing the way for our salvation. The Bible says, "This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time" (2 Timothy 1:9). And because Jesus Christ is fully divine, He too is eternal—and that's one reason why we can trust Him for our eternal salvation.
Most of all, never forget that one day over 2,000 years ago this eternal God came down to earth in the person of Jesus Christ. He did this to prove that He loves us and wants us to spend eternity with Him in heaven forever. Do you have this hope in your heart? You can, by giving your life to Jesus Christ today.

The human mind. It is a way to explain the unexplainable.
Example.
Imagine you are a "cave man", whose world is the horizon. Is the sun:
a) trillions of tons of exploding hydrogen 93 million miles away, around which the Earth orbits?
b) a god?
Your best friend Ugg has just dropped dead in front of you. there are no visible signes of injury. Is it:
a) a myocardial infarcation?
b) god's will?

I agree with some answers already given. its Human Imagination. Humans gave the name "god" to everything they couldn't explain earlier. For e.g. sun is a god in most ancient religions. Everything that could not be explained had to be something supernatural i.e. GOD. I think that's it.
